Happy 2022!

Hello everyone! How have you been? We haven’t spoken since last year (which is my fault, and I’m sorry). I truly hope you’ve all been doing amazing and wonderful things since we last hung out!

I know I didn’t post much last year; 2021 was very trying on my mental and physical health, but I took some time and now we’re back! I have so many things I want to tell all of you, but more importantly, I want to share with you what my new schedule is and what to expect for the rest of January 2022!

So to kick this off, I am now the proud owner of a bullet journal (which I will be giving a tour of at some point). I have made it a personal goal to get my shit together so I can really give my all to Rooplixoo. It has been a little over 4 years since I started this journey, and there’s no way we’re stopping! Since creating my bullet journal yesterday, I’ve been able to set a schedule (which you can see above) that not only works for me, but optimizes my time and energy, allowing me to do what I want and love to do! There was a lot of erasing and moving things around, but I’m finally happy with how it’s set and I’m really looking forward to the upcoming weeks!

Next on the agenda, we are bringing back the podcast! I know I’ve said this before, but last year having a podcast to record and upload every week became extremely overwhelming. So this time around, we are having one episode a month done live on Twitch, then downloaded and posted here, Spotify, and Youtube!

Speaking of Youtube, that’s going to be starting up, too! I have a few video in the works, and I’m hoping to start uploading them by the end of next month! It will mostly be video games, but there will be some art and crafts, vlogs, and other fun things posted there!

Finally, I am doing the Year of Pictures challenge over on Instagram, where I take a photo everyday of 2022! Some of them will be of me, a lot of them will be of my cats!

All in all, I am super excited for 2022! I have a wonderful group of people that have been pushing me to keep going and I can’t thank them enough! I have so many things planned and I can’t wait to share it with all of you! If any of you keep up with everything that’s going on across the platforms, click the links above and make sure to follow so you can be notified whenever something new is going on!

I want to thank you all so much for 4 years of continued support and love! I can’t wait to see where this year takes us! Keep kicking ass and I’ll see you all soon! ♥

Paperclip Test

Stream, Podcast, and Blog Schedule for September 2021

Hello everyone! I hope you’re all doing well! A couple of weeks ago, I decided to dive back into everything, and made a new schedule. All streams are on twitch and the podcast will be uploaded here and on Spotify! I am super excited to get back into this, as I hope all of you are, too! We have a busy month ahead of us, so let’s just jump right in!

As the title says, we’re going to be taking the Paperclip Test. A while ago, I had read an article about this guy who conducted an experiment where he asked a bunch of young children to come up with all the uses for a paperclip. They ended up with a ridiculously high number (I believe it was 200 or something), but adults could only come up with 15-20. We lose a lot of our creativity as we grow, due to school and other influences, so today we’re going to see how many uses we can come up with…

  1. Clip papers together
  2. Jewelry (necklaces, bracelets, earrings, pendants, etc.)
  3. To push small reset buttons on toys, remotes, fire alarms, etc.
  4. To clean under your nails
  5. To open sim slot in phones
  6. To make a simple circuit (with some other items)
  7. Hook
  8. Keychain
  9. To tie things together
  10. As a stencil
  11. To help make wing tips
  12. To make sculptures (with or without clay)
  13. Unclog small bottle openings/nozzles
  14. To fling rubber bands
  15. Scrape out tiny spaces
  16. Close bags
  17. Staple remover
  18. To clip zipper-pulls together
  19. Money fold
  20. Hair clip
  21. Clay tools
  22. Roach clip/bowl scraper
  23. Toothpick
  24. Wire organizer (the center of it)
  25. To make dots of glue/paint
  26. Screwdriver
  27. Makeshift button on a shirt
  28. Chains
  29. Hook bra straps together for a razorback
  30. Tiny sundial
  31. Bend it to make a fancy “S”
  32. To pick up beads
  33. A really bad tongue-scraper
  34. To test if a cake is cooked all the way through
  35. Makeshift antenna
  36. Twisty tie
  37. Replacement t-pins
  38. Replacement clothesline clips
  39. Pick a lock
  40. Replacement zipper pull

So I came up with 40 (with some help, of course), which I don’t think is too bad! The whole point of the test is to push yourself to think in a way that you haven’t since you were young, and to push the limits of your imagination! I will continue to try and come up with other uses for not only paperclips but for other objects, as well!

I’m going to wrap it up here, let me know down below if you come up with any other uses for paperclips, or different and creative uses for other items! I love you all so much, and I hope you have a great week! Keep kicking ass and I’ll see you soon!

Hitting the Books

Hello everyone! Hope 2021 is treating you right so far! It’s been an interesting start to the year, but I think we’re going to be better off than we were in 2020. The past few weeks for me have been packed full of planning and scheduling but I’m finally at a point where I can slow down… or am I?

As of today, I am once again a student. I enrolled and started classes this morning, and I couldn’t be happier! I am enrolled in paralegal studies and I am 8% through my first semester’s course load (according to my student dashboard). I forgot just how much I enjoyed learning and being a student, and it’s great to be back!

With that being said, I’m sure you’re all wondering what’s going to change. To put it simply, nothing. Rooplixoo will continue to thrive and I made sure that I have time for everything! The only thing that I’m struggling with right now is that my hands are killing me from taking notes all day and I’m hungry.

We have a busy week coming up as far as streaming is concerned. I will be streaming 1/12 at 3PM, 1/14 at 3PM and 1/16 at 10PM on twitch! Tuesday’s stream will be an anything stream, Thursday’s stream will be dedicated to going through my steam library, and Saturday’s stream will be the first of my Stardew Valley Completionist Playthrough!

I don’t have much else to report, so I will end it here! I love you all and hope you have a wonderful Monday!

Hit the Ground Running in 2021

Good morning everyone and Happy New Year! I wanted to put out a post yesterday, but time got away from me and I tied up in other things. I hope you’re all enjoying 2021 so far. A lot has been going on behind the scenes and I would like to tell you all a bit about it!

First and foremost, I finally have a schedule! There will be two posts a week (not including the sonnets), and three streams a week over on twitch!

As you can see, it’s a bit of a mess but I feel like this staggered setup will work out in the long run! I’m really excited to have a plan set in place, and can’t wait to see where it goes!

Next on the agenda, I am going back to school! I did some calculations and found out that I have way too much free time, so I will be enrolling in a paralegal studies course to fill in some of those timeslots. I miss going to school and I love learning, so why not add another thing to my schedule that I enjoy? I already have my binder setup and all I have to do now is enroll!

Moving on, I will also be starting to upload to Youtube in March. I will be uploading all of the VODs from my stream, posting the podcast, and doing some game playthroughs!

Finally, something that we’ve all been waiting for… I am going to be getting new artwork done for all platforms (blog, twitch, Youtube, discord, etc.)! I love my post-it notes, and I loved my keyboard, but it’s time once again to revamp! I don’t know exactly how it will look, but I know it will definitely be Rooplixoo approved!

That’s pretty much all that’s been going on, though there is one more surprise that I’m keeping under wraps until the end of the month. So far 2021 has been great, but that is thanks to the good things carrying over from 2020!

I love you all! Stay safe, have fun, kick ass and I’ll see you all later!

Early to Bed

It just hit me that I’m getting tired at a normal hour, which doesn’t happen often for me. I will be working tomorrow through the weekend. I have worked full time before, but it was in an office and only for a couple of months.

I’m happy that I’m getting back on a normal schedule and getting out of the house. I’m extremely exhausted, but it’s good to get away from the computer for a while.

I hope everyone has a wonderful night!

A New Schedule

With a new job, I realized that I will need to move some things around in my day-to-day life so I don’t fall behind. It shouldn’t be too hard to do, because all I need to move around are school, when I write my posts, and time with loved ones.

I already managed to get my sleep on track, which will definitely help in the long run, and I even downloaded a new app to help me keep track of my new journey! I will be printing out calendars (because I need more) so I will have a hard copy as well as a digital one.

I’m not going to lie, I am a bit nervous, but I’m truly excited to have this opportunity and I have a ton of support from those in my life so I know I won’t go through this alone.

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday, and sleeps well!

First Week

I have reached the end of the first week with my rewards chart. I didn’t do everything I needed to do to earn a reward, but I was definitely more productive and I’m proud of myself. I don’t expect I will be fully immersed in my new schedule for another week or so, but I will keep pushing myself until I am.

In all honesty, I’m not too worried about the rewards as much as I’m worried about getting my work done. No, I didn’t do as much as I needed to do but I still did something each day and that’s the whole point of having the chart!

I had a few rough days, and I still managed to get stuff done, which I was never able to do before! I’m going to be working more tonight and into the weekend because I’ve started to feel anxious when I’m not being productive (which is a good thing).

I hope everyone has a great night and a wonderful weekend, and for the Star Wars fans out there, may the fourth be with you!

My Escape

It’s probably pretty apparent by now that I spend a majority of my time online, but how do I spend that time? Well, I’m glad I asked! Thanks me! It’s actually quite a journey each day.

When I wake up, I open up my laptop and get down to… reconnecting it to the internet. Once that’s said and done, I jump into a Skype call with my favorite person and get my day started on a happy note. I absolutely love the calls I have in the early morning into the afternoon.

After he goes to bed, I get down to work, whether it be school or my job. If I’m doing schoolwork, I pull out my binder and start taking way too many notes and screaming at broken lines of code. If I’m doing my job, I get my stack of work orders and start entering them into the system. It’s not the most exciting job, but I’m happy to have it!

I finish off my day by watching hours of YouTube and passing out with my headset on.

My computer is my escape, and has become a huge part of my life. I don’t know where I would be without my laptop.
