Writer’s Block

I have a habit of getting terrible writer’s block every time I sit down to write. Eventually, I come up with something, but I’m drawing a black so I will write about not being able to write.

Forcing myself to focus has never been something I have fully grasped in my short time here on Earth. I know what I have and want to do, but when it comes down to doing whatever task is at hand, I can’t do it. I will procrastinate, and then procrastinate procrastinating. It’s an endless loop until the last minute and then I get everything done. I have always been like this. My mom dragged me kicking and screaming from preschool up until now.

I hate that I can’t organize myself to the point of being able to get the simplest things done until times almost up. I keep trying, though. I make task lists and set small goals that need to be finished by the end of the day.

There are times where I don’t need reminders and I will spend days on end getting everything off my plate. I take full advantage of these days because I don’t know when I will hyper-focus again. It’s a struggle, but I deal with it.

My Escape

It’s probably pretty apparent by now that I spend a majority of my time online, but how do I spend that time? Well, I’m glad I asked! Thanks me! It’s actually quite a journey each day.

When I wake up, I open up my laptop and get down to… reconnecting it to the internet. Once that’s said and done, I jump into a Skype call with my favorite person and get my day started on a happy note. I absolutely love the calls I have in the early morning into the afternoon.

After he goes to bed, I get down to work, whether it be school or my job. If I’m doing schoolwork, I pull out my binder and start taking way too many notes and screaming at broken lines of code. If I’m doing my job, I get my stack of work orders and start entering them into the system. It’s not the most exciting job, but I’m happy to have it!

I finish off my day by watching hours of YouTube and passing out with my headset on.

My computer is my escape, and has become a huge part of my life. I don’t know where I would be without my laptop.

A New Day

This day has been pretty good so far, except for the snow piling up outside! I had leftover Chinese food for breakfast, and I’m currently in a call with some pretty cool people. I’m hoping to get some school work done today, but that won’t be until later.

Hopefully, the snow won’t get to the point of knocking out the internet… kind of need that for everything I do. It doesn’t look like the snow is going to let up any time soon, so all I can do is keep working until I can’t.

Panic at the Discord

I have had an eventful morning, filled with drinking and good people! I had a half n’ half day yesterday, but being around friends and enjoying a few drinks really cheered me up.

I don’t have much else planned for the day except for work, school and maybe a nap.

Getting Ready

This week definitely had its ups and downs, but I feel good. I feel like I can take on anything, and it feels pretty great.

This weekend, I will be working, doing school work, and applying for a second job. If I want to be able to do the things I want and need to do, I need to do things I don’t really want to do. I remember when I was younger I didn’t want to be an adult, I just wanted to be old enough to have a bit of freedom. What I’ve learned is that freedom costs a pretty penny.

I know I’m going to have less free time, but maybe I will get to enjoy my down time a bit more if I have less of it. I know it won’t be easy, nothing is, but I have an amazing support team that drives me to better myself.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Shifting Gears

This week and next, I’m going to be strictly focusing on work and school. I want to get a lot done and I woke up today feeling driven to do so.

For work, I do data entry for two co-op buildings. I enter everything from maintenance requests to information about the units. It’s not the most exciting job, but I can literally work whenever I want.

For school, my main course is web development, while dabbling in software design, light IT, graphic design, and app development. I have taken on a ton of courses since September, but what better time to do all this than when I have all the time in the world? I enjoy coding; it’s like I’m constantly solving puzzles, and I love puzzles. At the rate I’m going, I’m going to be a forever student and I’m completely fine with this.

Between this blog, school, work and my social life, my time is spent mostly on the computer and it works for me. I enjoy immersing myself in technology, so I made it so I love everything I do.

I hope everyone has a beautiful Monday!
